Panic Saturday or Super Saturday is the last Saturday before Christmas, a major day of revenue¹ for American retailers², marking the end of the shopping season they and many customers believe begins on Black Friday.

Panic Saturday targets last-minute shoppers. Typically the day is ridden with one-day sales in an effort to accrue³ more revenue than any other day in the Christmas and holiday season.

Shoppers across Britain went looking for late Christmas bargains on Dec 20 as high street spending was set to reach £1.2 billion on what was being branded "Panic Saturday". Some of the country's biggest high street names slashed⁴ prices for what was expected to be one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
