A local woman, the town gossip and supervisor1 of the "town's morals", accused a local man of being an alcoholic2 because she saw his pickup3 truck parked outside the town's only bar.

He had left it there after having a few too many to drink one night and thought it best that he walked home.

She let everyone know that the man spent too much time at the bar. She also informed everyone she knew that they should all watch where he parked his truck the following evening and see what he was doing.

The man heard her telling everyone this, so he stared at her for a moment but said nothing.

Later that evening, he parked his pickup truck in front of her house and left it there before walking home and collecting it the following morning.
