　　The Second Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eighth National People's Congress decides： the Portuguese² translation of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative³ Region of the People's Republic of China， examined and approved under the aegis⁴ of the Law Committee of the National People's Congress， shall be the official Portuguese text and shall be equally authentic⁵ as the Chinese text. In case there is any discrepancy⁶ in the meaning of wording between the Portuguese text and the Chinese text， the Chinese text shall prevail.
