All players were given chances in the game as the head coach, Chen Zhonghe, rotated his squad² in attempts to seek a perfect lineup for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

The team nearly matched that selected for final they played against Russia at the Athens Olympics three years ago. Consecutive³ losses in the first two sets forced Chen's players to spare no efforts in their comeback.

The girls made it, succeeded in escaping from their deficit⁴, and rallied to notch⁵ up the final victory with a score of: 18-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-14, 15-12.

However, Chen Zhonghe was still unsatisfied with the team's performance, saying he needs more time to make the players familiar with each other.
