Chinese Super League powerhouse Shandong Luneng drew with Australia's Adelaide United 2-2 in Group G of the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

Adelaide's midfielder Fernando Rech got a one to one situation in the first half, and Luneng's goalkeeper Li Leilei fouled¹ in the box to block his shot. Adelaide got a penalty kick and scored successfully.

Midfielder Li Wei made a clear shot from the right one minute later after 37 minutes to make it 1-1.

Adelaide scored another soon after the second half began by forward Nathan Burns, but Shandong leveled seven minutes later by Shu Chang.

Shandong could have won the game, but they squandered² several clear chances.
