Chinanews, Beijing, Jan. 11 – About 6.2 percent of senior high students in Beijing have experienced sexual activities, with students in key senior high schools showing a more open attitude towards sex than those in occupational high schools, according to a recent poll among more than 2,000 senior high students in Beijing.
Beijing youngsters tend to be more and more "bold" towards sex. Beijing Morning Post reported that Beijing plans to conduct an across-the-board survey about the sexual education among the primary and secondary students in the city this year, meanwhile a "general outline" of sex education is under consideration.
Among the 2,300 senior high students responding to the sensitive topics on sex including reproductive health in the poll, 6.2 percent of them acknowledge having had sex experiences, with their first time at an average age of no more than 16. And among these students only about 4 percent adopted contraceptive measures in their first time.
The open-mindedness of these teenagers astonished many adults. About 3 percent of the young respondents think sexual activities are acceptable as long as both are willing. More than half of them do not object to "one-night stand". Only 15 percent say "unacceptable" to premarital sex.
