Veteran musician Bob Dylan has topped the US album chart for the fifth time with his 33rd studio album.

Dylan's album sold 125,000 copies in its first week on release in the US

Together Through Life, his first studio album since 2006, sits in the top slot on both sides of the Atlantic after scoring a UK number one on Sunday.

Modern Times, the 67-year-old icon's last studio album, also entered the Billboard¹ 200 chart in pole position.

Together Through Life also debuted²（初次登场） at number one in the Austrian and Danish record charts.

In addition, it is in the top five in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Holland, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and New Zealand.

'Exciting'

Dylan's latest chart success comes amid suggestions that he is open to the idea of a musical collaboration³（合作 ，通敌） with fellow rock legend Sir Paul McCartney.

"That would be exciting - to do something with Paul," he told Rolling Stone magazine.

"But, you know, your paths have to cross for something like that to make sense."

According to the Independent（独立报）, Sir Paul would be more than receptive（善于接纳的） to any overtures（提议，提案）.

"I should think he would be very interested in hearing about it," his spokesman told the newspaper.
