Chinanews, Beijing, March 7 – Survival pressure, wounded feelings, and ignorance of the law are the three majors reasons misleading Chinese female criminals onto the wrong path.

According to a report by the People's Procuratorate of Haidian District of Beijing, most female criminals only committed light crimes, and some were forced to be accomplices¹.

For example, many women criminals were caught red-handed while trying to sell fake goods or even fake receipts, and many are laid-off workers in their mid-40s or mid-50s. Actually, it is very hard for them to find a new job, while they still have to support their families. Heavy economic burden has driven them to commit crimes.

“I believe we should complete our bail² and parole system, which might mean a lot to these poor women, ”said one procurator.

Besides economic crimes, many women are jailed for inflicting³ injury on their unfaithful husbands in revenge.
