Chinanews, Macao, April 3 - A bridge linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao might be launched in 2007, according to Sir Gordon Wu, the president of Hopewell Holdings Limited.
All the three cities are very interested in building such a bridge. Currently, the National Development and Reform Commission is authorized1 by the State Council to be responsible for the project. NDRC had participated in several previous big projects. Sir Wu has strong confidence in the Commission's success in the bridge project. "There will be no difficulties in financing, all our concern is when the project will be launched," said Sir Wu. Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative2 Region, said that a special team had been founded to take charge of the bridge construction. "The bridge will link the tree places together, but it will not be profitable in at the least next 10 years. Let's be patient and have faith in NDRC," said Sir Wu.
