| Chinanews, Chongqing, December 13 – Chongqing set up its first women equestrian patrol on December 11, which will take the responsibility of patrolling along Yangrenjie on Nanbinglu. The riders are all professionally trained college graduates, and Chongqing is planning to recruit 20 Russian riders before the end of 2006.
Besides patrolling, the equestrian patrol will also perform at important events. All the 50 horses are bought from Inner Mongolia, each at more than 10,000 yuan.
Local government hired several experts from Inner Mongolia to help the riders to get along with the horses. The equipment of a rider costs no less than 2,000 yuan. Currently, the patrol is divided into several groups each of 10 members to be on duty in turns every half an hour.
