Chinanews, Beijing, February 8 - According to China Youth Daily, many private business owners in Beijing believe they are in the middle or even low rungs of the social ladder politically.
The report is based on the statistics from Beijing Municipal Academy of Social Sciences, which suggest that 40% of the private business owners complain about their low political status. However, 91% of them also say that their focus is their business, not anything else, when asked about their future plans. Meanwhile, private business owners are paying more and more attention to public appraisal1, in order to make themselves “respectable industrialists”. Unexpectedly, 77% of the private business owners in Beijing consider the realization2 of social harmony a top mission of the government.
