British Prime Minister David Cameron has told visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that Britain is looking forward to the state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping in October.

He says Britain wants to work closely with China to use the visit to show the world the fruitful results and bright

bilateral2 cooperation.
Cameron has pledged to encourage Chinese investments in Britain in such areas as high-speed railways, nuclear power, aviation and
telecommunication3.
For his part, Wang Yi called for the two countries to explore new growth points in their comprehensive strategic
partnership4, particularly in industrial capacity and financial cooperation.
Both have
vowed5 to make
joint6 efforts to make the year 2015 a "golden year" in the development of the bilateral relationship.
On Monday, Wang Yi inaugurated China's latest
consulate7 general in Belfast, the third in the UK following those in Manchester and Edinburgh.
