Chinanews, Beijing, Feb. 28 – The annual Session of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and that of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will be kicked off next month. Looking at delegates’ proposals and judging from the speeches they made, one will see that anti-corruption has topped all other issues to become the most widely concerned issue among delegates this year, while in previous years, the issue of “3Fs” (farming, farming areas, and farmers) was always the most important social issue among delegates.
On Tuesday, deputy head of the CPPCC National Committee's Information Bureau Zhang Jing’an listed some of the heated topics for this year’s CPPCC National Committee session. They include anti-corruption and Party discipline improvement, development of modern agriculture, financial risks control, regulation of real estate market, management of social security funds, reform of China's monopoly industries, promotion1 of national culture, food safety, college students employment, and CPPCC self-improvement. CPPCC National Committee members have always been an important force representing Chinese people’s public opinions. What concern them most every year are usually big social problems that emerge in the process of China's social development. At present, the CPPCC National Committee has established an effective scheme to gather public opinions. And members of CPPCC committees at various levels can hand in their proposals to the CPPCC National Committee's Information Bureau whenever necessary. If these issues are deemed as important, they may appear on the desks of Chinese senior leaders the next day.
