湿地保护工作成效显著
Wetlands in China have expanded steadily¹ over the past five years, growing by 202,600 hectares and making a significant contribution to water quality and environmental protection, an official from the National Forestry² and Grassland³ Administration said on Tuesday.
国家林业和草原局湿地管理司副司长李琰2月2日在新闻发布会上表示，过去五年，我国湿地保护工作稳步推进，新增湿地面积20.26万公顷，为净化水质、保护生态环境发挥了显著作用。
Between 2016 and last year, China established 201 national wetland parks, said Li Yan, deputy head of the administration's wetland management office. At a news conference on Tuesday, Li said China had 899 national wetland parks by the end of 2020, and half of the country's wetlands are protected by some level of government.
李琰说，2016-2020年，我国新增国家湿地公园201处，截至2020年国家湿地公园共899处，我国湿地保护率达到50%以上。
Tuesday was World Wetlands Day, marking the adoption⁴ of the Convention on Wetlands on Feb 2, 1971, in Ramsar, Iran.
为纪念1971年2月2日《湿地公约》在伊朗南部海滨小城拉姆萨尔签署，每年的2月2日被确定为世界湿地日。
China joined the convention on July 31, 1992.
中国于1992年7月31日加入《湿地公约》。
