A Chinese media group also went to Chelyabinsk to report the event. Chinese reporters are accommodated at the barracks site of the Russian No.295 Regiment4 of the No. 34 Motorized Infantry5 Division. Entering the barracks site, this reporter saw that all the houses there were painted new. The dormitories, which could accommodate four people each, were clean and tidy. There was a bathroom in every floor. The televisions could receive programs broadcast by CCTV's No. 1 channel. On the basketball court, several Russian soldiers were wrapping up their preparation work by smoothing down the playground with bulldozers.

Some of the Chinese soldiers are put up in the Russian Shager Airport while others in the No. 295 Regiment barracks. Among the 300 Chinese soldiers, 200 went to Russia in six Yi-76 transport planes that left for Russia on Tuesday. Through the 2005 Peace Mission joint military drill and subsequent ones, we have accumulated some good experiences. We believe that we can make some progress in this year's joint military drill, the Russian military spokesperson told this reporter.

At the barracks site, this reporter saw that many Russian soldiers smile at him and eager to say hello to him. Two young Russian soldiers came up to the reporter and introduced themsleves with a bit rusty8 English. They wanted to exchange some coins with the Chinese reporter to keep them as mementos9.

Immediately after the Chinese soldiers arrived at the site, Russian soldiers sent over a medical team and a refueling truck to the Chinese soldiers. During the military drill, the Russian side will take care of the meals of the Chinese media staff.
