中捷签署一系列合作协议

China and the Czech Republic have signed a series of deals connected to a range of areas, including civil nuclear energy, finance, medical treatment and public health.

The agreements have been sealed on the sidelines of a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Czech President Milos Zeman in Beijing.

Xi Jinping says he believes there is more room for cooperation between the two countries.

"Recently, relationship between China and the Czech Republic has enjoyed good momentum¹, with more frequent exchanges and better cooperation. I would like to work with you and push forward bilateral² ties. I say this as we mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties."

For his part, Milos Zeman says the Czech Republic approaches its relationship with China under the philosophy of being on an equal footing.

"The relationship between the Czech Republic and China has been developed on the basis of mutual³ respect. The Czech Republic firmly supports China's stance on Taiwan, Tibet and other issues."

Zeman is the first Czech president to visit China in nearly 10-years.
