Chinanews, Beijing, March 16 – According to China Securities Journal, Chinasat-2, the second direct broadcasting satellite of China, will be launched in September, to provide terrestrial digital TV service for Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin, Qinhuangdao and Shenyang, which will host events of the 2008 Olympic Games, to take the place of the failed Sino-2.   The national standard for terrestrial digital TV service was published in last August, and it will be formally carried out on August 1, 2007, after one year's transition period. That is to say, all the terrestrial digital TV stations in China must update their equipment to meet the national standard before this August.   Currently, there are 12.6 million digital TV subscribers in China, although there were only 4 million in 2005.
