Chinanews, Beijing, April 3 - There will be the 6th speed-up for railways in China on April 18, thus the Ministry1 of Railways has arranged a simulation for it from April 2 to April 9.
High-speed trains of the multiple unit that can run more than 200 km per hour will take part in the simulation, in which they will travel more than 10,000 km. The simulation will be conducted on Beijing-Shanghai, Shanghai-Hangzhou, Zhejiang-Jiangxi, and Beijing-Guangzhou railways. After the sixth speed-up, the average speed of multiple units in China will be 200 km per hour (even 250 km per hour for some lines), the highest speed for trains around the world at present, rather than thecurrent 160 km per hour. Besides, several multiple units made in China will be put to use, which reflects China's great achievement in the railway industry. The speed-up will also bring an 18% growth to the passenger-carrying capacity and a 12% growth to the cargo2 capacity of Chinese railways.
