Chinanews, Beijing, December 8 – Yuanyuan, one of the first-generation clone cows in Beijing (born January 2004), gave birth to a healthy female calf1, Dongdong, at 16:30 on December 5, 2006.
Yuanyuan conceived Dongdong in last February after artificial insemination. Dongdong is 80 cm long, 82 cm tall, and its chest measurement is 83 cm. With its weight being 41 kg, Dongdong is almost as heavy as a calf of 2 weeks old. Before Dongdong, another first-generation clone cow, Jiajia, gave birth to Meigui last February.
