The chimp¹ 黑猩猩 at the centre of this study, an alpha male 超南，男人中的男人 in his 30s called Santino, lives at Furuvik Zoo to the north of Stockholm.

His war against the visiting public began in the 1990s, when he got into the habit 形成了习惯 of collecting stones from the moat 壕沟 surrounding his artificial island 人造小岛.

Santino would stack these up 囤积 during the morning, and then wait for visiting time, when the bombardment 炮击（用石头击打游人） would begin.

One zoo-keeper 动物园饲养员 said some of the attacks were like hailstorms 雹暴. However, the chimp was not only capable of this unusual example of forward planning 制定远景计划, he also managed to break lumps of concrete 水泥 into manageable-sized missiles 导弹 by checking for their weak points.

The researchers 研究人员 say Santino's behaviour shows convincingly that our fellow apes consider the future in a very complex way.
