Without too much regret, I can say that X-Men will be palatable1 to fans and newbies alike. It’s not a great film, but it will probably follow the arc of the Superman and Batman movies -- tons of sequels of variable quality until an abrupt2 and dismal3 end a decade later. newbie:新手,新兵,这里指新迷上科幻电影的影迷 不带有过多的遗憾,可以说X-Men不论是对于老牌科幻影迷还是新近喜欢这类影片的人来说都将会是一道"美味佳肴"。 The film is largely focused on introducing the very idea of the humanity having mutated to the point where various members of it find themselves endowed with superhuman abilities: telepathy, walking on water/through walls, regeneration, and the like are commonplace. As with most modes of difference, the mutants find themselves vilified4 by the public, and a Senator (Bruce Davison) launches a crusade to mandate5 "mutant registration6." telepathy:心灵感应,感应能力,片中的变异人们都具有超凡的特异功能。
