Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel peace prize winner, has announced he will consider starting a new political party in response to public pressure for him to intervene¹ in Bangladesh's violently divided political arena².

1月11日，孟加拉总统宣布全国进入紧急状态，并取消了原定于1月份晚些时候举行的国会选举，此后孟加拉一直由军方支持的政府管理。

Bangladesh has been ruled by a military-backed administration³ since January 11 when the president declared a state of emergency and cancelled parliamentary elections⁴ scheduled for later that month.

政府女性学院(Government Women's College)的一位教授表示："我个人认为，他不应在此时直接进入政界。他更应该继续作为一个压力团体，敦促政党做到政治廉洁--多年来，因黑钱和权力的运用，政治已是肮脏不堪。"

Government Wom- en's College professor, said: "I personally think he should not directly enter politics at this moment. Rather he should continue to act as a pressure group for the political parties to clean up their politics, which has been polluted through the use of black money and muscle power over the years."
