1月7日（春运第一天）全国铁路、公路、水路、民航共发送旅客3473.6万人次，环比增长11.1%，比2022年同期增长38.9%。

 

Some 34.74 million passenger trips were made Saturday, the first day of the 2023 Spring Festival travel rush, new data showed. The figure was 38.9 percent higher than the same period of 2022, according to a work group on the travel rush under the State Council¹.

来自国务院联防联控机制春运工作专班的数据显示，1月7日（春运第一天）全国共发送旅客约3474万人次，比2022年同期增长38.9%。

 

Some 6.02 million train trips and 27.35 million road trips were made Saturday, up 18.4 percent and 46.9 percent, respectively², from last year.

具体来看，铁路发送旅客约602万人次，比2022年同期增长18.4%。公路发送旅客约2735万人次，比2022年同期增长46.9%。

 

Saturday also saw a 24.9-percent increase in air passenger trips and a 7.4-percent hike in waterway trips.

民航发送旅客人次比2022年同期增长24.9%，水路发送旅客人次比2022年同期增长7.4%。

 

The Spring Festival travel rush, also known as "chunyun," will last from Jan. 7 to Feb. 15 this year, during which many Chinese people will travel to reunite with their families for the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Jan. 22 this year.

今年的春运将从1月7日持续到2月15日，在此期间许多中国人将与家人团聚，度过中国农历新年（今年的大年初一是1月22日）。
