中国呼吁应对气候变化“职责差异化”

China has called for the upcoming Paris Climate Conference to be realistic about the different capabilities¹ and responsibilities among developed and developing countries.

中国呼吁在即将到来的巴黎气候会议中，发达国家与发展中国家不同的能力与职责需要从实际出发。

The country hopes the gathering² of world leaders later this month will stick to the principles outlined in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Vice³ Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"The principles of equity⁴, common but differentiated⁵ responsibilities and respective capabilities should be highlighted as they reflect the fact that developed countries have made a greater historical contribution to climate change," said Liu.

The conference should push for more concrete actions from developed countries, who are expected to honor their commitments to offer financing and technology to developing countries, he added.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of the conference and express China's proposals on countering climate change.
