Democrats1 held a sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday and Thursday to demand a vote on gun control legislation.

House Republicans adjourned5 the session through the Fourth of July just after 3 am Thursday, and Democrats vowed6 to continue fighting on the issue in July.
Some Democrats remained for several more hours. At about 1:15 pm Thursday -- after more than 25 hours -- they left the House chamber7 and ended the demonstration8.
