Chinanews, Beijing, October 15 – The delegates to the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will include several young people born in the 1980s. Only after the 1980ers have taken part in various economic and social affairs, can the congress be regarded as the landmark1 of their political career.
Most of the delegates born in the 1980s are sports stars or role models, including, Sun Tiantian, the Olympic badminton star, Zou Shiming, the first world boxing champion from China, Zhang Yining, the table-tennis champion, Tan Xue, the fencing champion, Xu Benyu, who worked as voluntary teacher in Guizhou for two years, and Chen Liezhou, who saved 126 people in the disastrous2 storm of 2006.
