Iran launched extensive military drills on Thursday near the Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the Persian Gulf¹.

The army says the maneuvers will pose no danger to foreign forces in the Persian Gulf.

Hormuz Strait is the only sea passage from the Persian Gulf to the open ocean, through which one-fifth of the world's oil supply passes.
