Zou Kai from Sichuan pocketed up his second gold medal in high bar at China's national gymnastics championships on Monday.

Zou collected 15.375 points out of a routine of 6.8 in difficulty, grabbing his second title after winning the floor exercise. He is among the winning squad¹ of team title at the Aarhus world championships last year.

Xiao Qin, the pommel horse world champion, finished second to take the silver for Bayi with 15.125 points. Feng Zhe added Sichuan a bronze in 14.750 points, who also won the vault² gold medal at the tournament.

In parallel bars, veteran Huang Xu, 29, earned Jiangsu the only gold in 16.175 points. Yang Wei, triple world champion, shared the second place with Teng Haibin from Beijing both in 15.900 points. Both Huang and Yang are in the lineup for team victory at the Sydney Olympic Games.

Yang had contributed two gold medals out of the all-around and rings in previous matches at the championships.

Teenager Li Shanshan from Guangdong clinched³ an overwhelming triumph on beam, pulling out 15.500 points out of an action of 7.1 in A mark (difficulty) to dominate the apparatus⁴.

Zhou Zhuoru, Beijing gymnast, came in second with 14.600 and her teammate Zhang Nan third in 14.325. Both experienced the honor of first women's team world champion ever for China in Aarhus, Denmark, in 2006.

The national gymnastics championships came to close after ten-day's matchup, which is also functioning as the first trial tourney for a squad towards the world championships in Stuttgart, Germany, in September and the Beijing Olympic Games next year.
