A: Where can we train before the competition?

B: Besides the competition hall, there are six arenas¹ for training.

B: Three of them are nearby the gymnasium and the others are downtown.

B: They are open daily from 8:00 to 20:00 to all the teams for training, but reservation must be made before hand.

B: The Chinese Team will practice at the central stadium.

B: According to the program, we have arranged for you to practice from 16:00 to 18:00 today at the competition hall.

2. Visiting venues²看比赛场地

 

A: The floor and all gymnastics apparatus³ are set at positions. Please have a try.

B: We have tried the apparatus one by one and they all meet the FIG⁴ standards.

 

所有器材都一一试用了，全都达到国际体操联合会的比赛标准。

 

A: How about the floor bounce and brightness of lights?

B: The floor size and bounce are fine, but the lights should be a little brighter.

 

场地尺寸、地板弹性都符合标准，但灯光应该再调亮一点。

 

A: How will the gymnasts march in and where are their benches?

 

运动员怎么入场，坐在哪儿？

 

B: They will march in from both sides of the floor opposite the VIP stands. The guest team is on the left-hand bench, while the home team is on the right.

 

从贵宾台对面场地两端入场，客队坐左边，主队坐右边。

 

A: Shall we try the judges' scoring boards and audio equipment?

 

试一下裁判记分显示器和音响设备好吗？

 

B: You're most welcome to use them. You may play both CDs and MP3 on the machine.
