Chinanews, Beijing, Apr. 12 – According to People’s Daily, 12 ancient buildings in Southern Anhui Province had been moved to an ecological1 park in Baoshan, Shanghai. The news shocked many local villagers, but they could do nothing on this issue about it.
It is reported that in recent years many merchants from Shanghai and Zhejiang Province have expressed their interests in those ancient buildings in Anhui, and nearly 100 buildings have been bought by them annually2, including private residential3 houses, ancestral temples and school buildings. According to the Yellow Mountain Cultural Bureau, there were still 4,700 ancient buildings in 1985, but they have been on the decrease since then.
