Chinanews, Beijing, Mar1. 5 – The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) recently issued the 2007 High Technology Developmental Report. The report says that China is currently working on a strategic development plan for the deep space probe in the next 30 years. After gathering2 opinions from various scientific research institutes, Chinese scientists propose in their report some conceptual ideas for the probing task to some planets including the Venus and Mars.

The report was written by two Chinese scientists, Ye Peijian, an academician from CAS and expert on space technology, and Peng Jing, a senior engineer from CAS. In their report, the two scientists propose some conceptual ideas about the probing task for China over the next 30 years. The report says that in future, China will launch a compound flying vehicle to space, which will consist of a probing device for the Mars (or Venus) and a probing device for small celestial3 bodies. The compould flying vehicle will be sent, through a carrier rocket, to the Earth-to-Mars Transfer Orbit or into the Earth-to-Venus Transfer Orbit which will then be sent into the Mars orbiting track with the flying force of the Venus. The Mars probing device will make adjustment during the process and the probing device for small celestial bodies will separate from the Mars probing device at an appropriate time. In the end, the two probing devices will carry their task independently in space.

In their article titled "Prospects4 and Thoughts for the Deep Space Exploration Task for China", the two scientists outline specific tasks and goals that to be accomplished5 in the deep space exploration work. These tasks include exploring the topographical and geomorphological features of the Mars, finding out the substances that make up the ground of Mars, finding out the structure of Mars and elements that make up its structure, finding out the elements that make up the atmosphere of the Mars and carrying out researches of the shaded areas on its surface. The probing device for small celestial bodies will mainly explore the topographical and geomorphological features of small planets and comets, the substances that make up the surfaces of these small planets and comets, as well as their internal structures. For the Venus, the probing device will take image pictures of the Venus and explore its atmospheric6 elements. In technology aspect, scientists will try to test new technologies and make a breakthrough in the common technologies of deep space exploration.
