Chinanews, Shanghai, Jul. 26 – The tape recording1 made by an UFO witness was shown to the public on last Saturday, which was regarded as the only voice recording of UFO in China.
Many people saw red “fireball” in the sky in Shanghai on March 18, 1991, and most of them thought it was UFO. The “fireball” also aroused the attention of a reporter from the Xinmin Evening News. One witness who worked in the Hongqiao Airport told the reporter that he also saw the UFO, and asked an airplane pilot to trace the “fireball”. The reporter wrote an article, titled “UFO Arrived over Shanghai, Traced by plane in 9 Minutes”, which was published on the March 19th edition of the Xinmin Evening News. Wu Jialu, an engineer from Shanghai Aircraft Research Institute, read the article. Currently Wu is director of Shanghai UFO Research Institute. He got the original tape from the UFO witness. In the tape, the witness talked with the pilot on the discovery of the UFO. The pilot finally said that the UFO was headed for Wuxi, and he couldn’t trace it any more.
