Chinanews, Beijing, Nov. 2 – China's moon probe project does not involve any military factor, said Pei Zhaoyu, spokesperson at the China National Space Administration (CNSA), at a news conference on Thursday.
China has always stuck to the principle of peaceful use of space resources. All space activities carried out by China, including the moon probe project and deep space exploration project, are aimed at exploring the space and serving the interests of mankind. China's space exploration project is solely1 for making scientific achievements without involving any military factor, Pei said. China's moon probe project is also an open project. The aim of the project, its general scheme, technologies used, main research institutes involved in this project, and the information and big progress made in this project are all open to people in the world, Pei noted2. Since China kicked off the moon probe project, China has carried out a series of comprehensive and in-depth researches jointly3 with many other countries. In 2006, China held the Eighth International Lunar Conference. When China launched Chang'e No. 1 moon satellite, China invited delegates from other countries to see the launching process at the site. By adhering to the principle of peaceful use of space resources, mutual4 benefit and mutual development, China would like to have more exchange and cooperation with other countries in its moon exploration and deep space exploration activities, Pei Zhaoyu noted.
