Chinanews, Beijing, Nov. 2 – China welcomes all people of Chinese origin, including Taiwan compatriots, to actively1 participate in mainland's moon probe project on a comprehensive basis, said Pei Zhaoyu, spokesperson at the China National Space Administration (CNSA), in a news conference on Thursday.
Since China kicked off the moon probe project, Chinese people have showed their great concern and support for the project. The Hong Kong and Macao compatriots have also expressed their concern and support for the project. Mr. Luan Enjie, the project's general designer, once went to Hong Kong to introduce the project to Hong Kong people. Hong Kong people reacted warmly to the project and many people were proud of it and wanted very much to participate in it, he said. In order to gain more scientific achievement, China has established the Scientific Application Experts Committee for the moon probe project. The members of this committee include scientists from various provinces, municipalities and autonomous2 regions in the mainland, and also many scientists from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative3 regions. Of all the 122 scientists on the committee, eight are from Hong Kong and Macao. Their participation4 in the project will encourage more people from Hong Kong and Macao to join in the project, Pei said. China welcomes people from Hong Kong and Macao, and all people of Chinese origin including those from Taiwan to actively participate in China's moon probe project on a comprehensive basis and to realize Chinese people's dream of exploring the space, Pei Zhaoyu noted5.
