Chinanews, Guiyang, Nov. 16 – Archeologists from the Guizhou Provincial1 Bureau of Land and Resources discovered some ancient fossils when carrying out a scientific research at a national geological park at Pingtou Village, Shuibatang Town, Tongzi County, Guizhou Province, on Oct 27. The ancient fossils were later confirmed to be the algae2 fossils formed some 450 million years ago, the Guizhou Commercial News reported.
On Monday this week, the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the news to the public. The algae fossils have high scientific values since scientists haven't found fossils that old before.
