Chinanews, Beijing, April 10 - The Social Investigation1 Center of China Youth Daily and the News Center of Sina.com jointly2 conducted a survey on fake ads in China recently. Nearly 92% of the respondents feel angry about entertainment stars and other celebrities3 taking part in such ads.
More than 67% of the respondents think that the stars should be partially4 responsible for the quality of the products in the ads with them as main characters, and 24% of them think stars should be totally responsible. Some 0.6% of the respondents confess that they will buy anything if the stars they adore perform in their ads, no matter they need these things or not, and another 30% say that they will "prefer" such products. In another survey by CCTV, 47.2% of the respondents claim that they will do so. Some of the businesspeople abuse the general public's trust toward the stars by inviting5 them to perform in fake ads. In a sense, the stars sometimes can be called victims, too.
