Chinanews, Guangzhou, November 21 – International gambling1 absorbs at least 600 billion yuan from China every year through illegal underground channels., which is as much as the total income of the country's tourism industry.
In fact, all the fund-raising lotteries2 in China collect no more than 60 billion yuan a year. Why are there so many Chinese who prefer to throw their money abroad instead of investing on local lotteries? There are mainly two reasons. First, relatively3 dull and monotonous4 local lotteries can not meet many people's curiosity and longing5 for excitement. Second, the possibilities of winning a prize is lower in local lotteries (about 49%) than in international gambling (about 65% to even 80%). Football gambling of Chinese plays an important part in international gambling. In fact, most of the 10 billion euro gambling capital during 2006 Germany FIFA World Cup came from China, even more than FIFA's total income from the match.
