Chinanews, Beijing, July 28 – During the first half of this year, the per capita income of urban residents in China reached 7,052 yuan, increasing by 17.6% from the same period last year. Allowing for inflation, the per capita income of urban residents increased by 14.2% in real terms, according to information released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday.
The conclusion was arrived at after NBS randomly1 investigated 59,000 households living in cities and towns across China. The investigation2 also shows that during the first half of this year, the per capita expenditure3 among urban residents reached 4,830 yuan, increasing by 14.2%. Allowing for inflation, the actual increase reached 11%. People in Shanghai, Beijing and Zhejiang ranked among the top three in people's per capita disposable income level. People's per capita disposable income all exceeded 11,000 yuan in these three places.
