Chinanews, Hangzhou, July 31 – More and more businesspeople from Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province nowadays are fond of pursuing further studies, particularly EMBA courses, which they believe will help extend their business further.

In the past 20 years, Wenzhou businesspeople have made the most of relatively¹ cheap labor² and low manufacturing cost in China to start their career. However, it also means that Wenzhou businesspeople can only occupy the bottom of the global industrial chain, for it is difficult for cheap products to generate very competitive brands.

Thus many of them have realized it is time to change the pattern of development, and to pursue further studies as the first step. More and more economists³ have become the guests of Wenzhou businesspeople, and a great many of Wenzhou businesspeople have returned to college to brush up or renew their knowledge.

“Many local businesspeople have changed a lot from 10 years ago,” said Zhou Dewen, the director of Wenzhou Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promoting Association, “for they have learned a lot more new concept of running businesses.
