Chinanews, Shanghai, December 8 – EF, the biggest international English training agency in the world, announced on December 7 in Shanghai that it would set up a new subbranch in China every month on average.
It is estimated that English training market in China has a capacity of about 15 billion yuan, and many international English training agencies are confident in taking a large share. Interestingly, most of them choose white-collar workers, most of whom live a well-off life, as their major customers. Currently, there are about 50,000 English training agencies in China, but the market seems to be far from saturation1. Experts believe that the market-scale will grow to 30 billion yuan by 2010, with China's entry to the WTO, Beijing Olympics 2008 and Shanghai World Expo 2010 boosting it.
