Chinanews, Beijing, September 14 – By 2010, China might produce even more autos than Japan and the US, to become the biggest auto1 producer in the world, when it is estimated2 that there will be a holding of at least 70 million autos in China.
Experts believe that China should keep no more than 150 million autos. According to the current development speed of auto industry in China, the limit will be reached before 2020. By the end of 2006, there were 49.85 million civil autos in China, including 11.49 million private cars and 13.99 million farm vehicles. In the same year, China produced 7.2 million autos, only following Japan and the US. China was also the second largest auto market. In the first 7 months of 2007, China produced and consumed3 5-million-plus autos, and the annual figure will break 8.6 million, about 20% more than last year. If the Chinese auto industry could keep its rapid growth, by 2010 China would produce 1.6 million cars, the top of the world.
