Chinanews, Beijing, Oct 10 – This year, many commodities have sold well in China, and thus have boosted the total retail1 sales of commodities. Among them, luxury goods that reflect people's improved living standards, such as cars, houses, and telecommunication2 apparatus3, have sold especially well, according to the latest information from the National Statistics Bureau.
Recent years have seen a great change in Chinese people's consumption structure. Of the sales volume recorded between 2003 and 2006 of 23 major consumer goods, car sales witnessed the fastest growth of 52.3%, followed by the sales of telecommunication apparatus (which grew by 50.4%), and the sales of building materials and housing decoration materials (28.9%).
