Chinanews, Beijing, December 19 – According to the report on an online banking1 survey in China by Financial Certification Authority (FCA), over 60% of the responders show no confidence in the security of online banking.
Though the number of online banking users in China has greatly increased in 2006 (currently some 40 million), and many more enterprises have begun to show interest in its convenience, online banking still won't become all the user's first choice if security remains2 their major concern. Interestingly, the report also reveals that about 87.1% of Internet surfers in China know online banking, although not many banks have put ads for their online banking services. Some 82.1% of the general public who have never used online banking know something about it. Currently, about 1/3 of the citizens in ten Chinese big cities are online banking users, most of whom are in their 30s and well educated, with a monthly income of 3,000 to 5,000 yuan.
