Chinanews, Beijing, October 29 – According to the Investigation1 Center of the National Statistics Bureau, there were 46 Chinese enterprises that had a total asset of at least 100 billion yuan each by the end of 2006, while the figure in 2005 was only 37.
The statistics were released at the press briefing of the top-500 most competitive Chinese enterprises and big Chinese enterprise groups on October 27, 2007. By the end of 2006, there were 2,856 big enterprises in China, their total assets 17.53% more than the previous year and revenue 21.95% higher. These enterpriese had gained a total business profit of 19 trillion yuan.
