China cracked 30,000-plus commercial bribe cases

Chinanews, Beijing, December 4 – According to He Yong, the director of the Central Commercial Bribe¹ Control Group, from August 2005 to August 2007,31, 119 commercial bribe cases, involving 7.079 billion yuan, were fracked, of which 6,971 cases were relevant to public servants.

The focus of the Central Commercial Bribe Control Group was in construction, real estate exchange, property right exchange, medical sourcing, government procurement² and resource development and sales. Bank credit, securities and futures³ are also among its major concerns, as it is their responsibility to protect the rights and interests of the general public by maintaining order in the market.

“We have to build up a system that will help prevent commercial bribe in the long run, and play an active part in the national anti-corruption system,” said He.
