Chinanews, Shanghai, Jan. 9 – Some 70 tons of specialties1 from the United States were shipped to Shanghai on Thursday. The goods, varying in 100 kinds, contain nuts, tomato flakes2 and oat rings. 30% of these goods appear in Shanghai for the first time.
It is expected that these goods will give more choices for Shanghai people to make when they shop for the forthcoming Chinese New Year, said a person from the Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association, or WUSATA. The goods will first appear in ten of the Lianhua supermarket outlets3 in Shanghai, although it is not the first time for some of the goods to be sold in the city, this time their selling prices will be 5-10% cheaper than last time.
