| Chinanews, Beijing, Jan. 26 – It seems that the ever-increasing housing price has not shown any signs of slowing down. The China Economic Prosperity Monitoring Center under the National Statistics Bureau recently carried out a survey, which finds nearly 100 economists1 in China believe that housing price will continue to rise in 2007, Beijing Morning Post reported.
In 2006, sales price of newly built commercial houses in 70 cities across China grew by at least 5.8% compared with the same month in the previous year. In some cities, the housing price growth reached as much as 7.1%.
And such rising trend will continue in 2007, according to most economists in the survey. The survey shows that only 11% of the economists think that housing price will remain the same in 2007 as in 2006 and 3% of them believe it will drop, while 86% of the economists predict that housing price will rise in 2007.
Among all the economists who believe that housing price will rise, nearly 60% believe that it will rise by over 5%, and 4% of these economists say that the growth rate will reach over 10%.
The survey also shows that most economists are optimistic about the overall economic performance this year. They say that while the rate of economic growth and investment will slow down, Chinese economy will continue to grow at a fast speed this year. Over 60% of economists in the survey predict that economic growth rate will reach at least 10% this year.
