Sept. 10 - China will expand its industry security database to better guarantee the country's industrial security, Xinhua learned from the Ministry¹ of Commerce.

The industries being monitored will expand from auto², chemical fertilizers and four other sectors³ to 10 industries, including petrochemical, machine-building, building material, light industry and textile, according to Song Heping, deputy director of the ministry's Industrial Damage Investigation⁴ Department.

The number of enterprises monitored will increase from current 500 to 10,000 and the number of indices to be monitored will grow from 27 to 142.

China established a national industry early warning and monitoring system in 2001, which covered key enterprises and 456 categories of important commodities
