Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, has been ranked the "most romantic city" in the country, according to a list by Amazon China.

The list has been compiled by the online retail¹ giant, based on the sales of books on romantic subjects in 50 Chinese cities last year.

 

Trailing behind Zhengzhou are Baotou in northern China's Inner Mongolia and Shaoxing of east China's Zhejiang Province.

 

"The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry" by American author Gabrielle Zevin topped the sales charts of romance-related books last year on Amazon China, followed by homegrown novel "I Belonged to You" by Chinese writer Zhang Jiajia and "One Hundred Years of Solitude²" by Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez.

 

This marks the second time that Zhengzhou has topped Amazon China's list of romantic cities. It also grabbed the No. 1 spot the year before.
