Chinese champion swimmer Ning Zetao has paid a visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York.

中国游泳冠军宁泽涛受邀参观纽约联合国总部。

The 24-year-old met and chatted with Thomas Gass, Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination¹ and Inter-Agency Affairs.

Through the meeting, the two say they hope to call on people from all areas of the society, especially young people, to pay more attention to the oceans and take part in the implementation² of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In June, Ning Zetao sent a video message to mark the start of the Ocean Conference, a high-level United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve³ and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine⁴ resources for sustainable development.
